The Show is About to begin

This is the Flyer I designed with the help of Vista prints for the Fast approaching Art/Craft Show in my little City. The posters are Awesome but too big to scan. When I received the advertising pack I thought "now I gotta live up to all this" yep I had a little melt down moment and an anxiety attack pretty much had me breathing into a paper bag...ok I exaggerated ..but it came close. I will be posting photos for my curious friends here of the whole Show as soon as I have set up with my girlfriend. Kath of Kaths Kreations who I feature here in my blog, is the creator of the two mirror glass torso with me in the middle.
Advice for those considering an Art Exhibition....start a year before!!!! you need the time to properly create and plan as the pressure can just about floor you otherwise. At this stage Kath and I just want it to start..we cant wait to set up and have the doors open though both of us have still got tons to do. Thats all for now friends I have got to keep moooooving. smiles Michelle and hugs to my special friends that visit me here you are not fogotten and I look forward to having my life back and telling you all about it. xo

SeaSirens ...I just love them!

I havent made a Siren in awhile and my FunkySiren spoke to me and I found myself at my table covered in paint and papers and glitter. At the end of the day here she is. I just love her. She is off the canvas with an overall size of 24 inches. I can hang her on the wall as the tail is really sturdy though flexable. Ive never been one to be boxed in and this holds true even when working on a canvas boxed shape I just love and encourage other artists to find ways to rebel and go off the canvas and beyond... This beautiful Siren has a name...Yasmin ..after a lovely artist and friend I have blogged about Yasmin Mundaca.

Heart Art

I want to take a blog moment and introduce a special artist all the way from Brazil.
Yasmin Mundaca When I saw Yasmin's Art, it struck my heart and is totally irresistible. I found myself looking into the biggest eyes of the most colorful and cutest little people I have ever seen. Yasmin herself is a charming, friendly and special girl. Her circumstances are not as easy as some of ours are. Yet her art is just so much fun a credit to the spirit of this lovely girl. Yasmin has just begun on her journey and at this time is relying mostly on selling her art. Please click on her name above and visit her Blog and Etsy store. Its well worth the click of the button.
Above is a some pictures of of her fabulous works as a taster for what you will see there.

CHILD COCOONED

PLEASE CLICK FOR DETAILED LOOK

Im been brave and entered the Mind Wide Open challenge for December. The image given to use is of the little girls face and its just beautiful.
I used a silk hanky and sewed it into a cocoon. The face image is actually peeking out from inside the cocoon. I also added leaves and feathers for a organic look. The close up of the bottom of the canvas shows some detail of the feathers. The butterfly image is an Artchix one. Its difficult to show in a photo but the cocoon is actually a 3D effect and stands of the canvas. The cocoon hangs from a very old rusty nail with sari fibers attached to finish. I had the best fun making this and really appreciate how the challenge opens you up to explore new idea's. I shall be taking more in 2009.
Ive been nominated by Lisa at for this award. Im very honoured and its such a lovely looking award too. Thank you Lisa for your support and appreciation of my art. Lisa your art is pure candy floss on a stick...

SERENDIPITY

Inspiration for this art work is credited to Angel Chiasson who had a wonderful art work published in Somerset Studio July 2007. I just had to have a go and here is my result. I had the greatest delight in tearing up a song i have never got my head around which is as you see on the tree branch. I used the music sheet for some flowers and the grass blades. My apologies to those who love the little song but it just does my head in. Its great therapy and I recommend that if you see a newspaper article or something you just dont like, tear it up and turn it into ART. I have two pictures but they are of the same canvas as its a little too big for my scanner. I hope it inspires and you enjoy smiles Michelle

BEAUTIFUL MADAMOISELLE COLLAGE. THESE ARE THE BEST FUN TO CREATE AS A PAPER DOLL OFF THE CANVAS FIRST AND THEN ADDED TO CANVAS USING VARIOUS WAYS OF ATTACHMENTS. I TOTALLY LOVE!!!! MY NEW JAPANESE PUNCH WHAT A WONDERFUL INVENTION. I USE THIS TO PUNCH HOLES THROUGH PAPER DOLL AND CANVAS USING RIBBONS AND FIBERS TO TIE THE EMBELLISHMENTS TO THE CANVAS. THE THREE CANVAS TELL A STORY OF SORTS. SEE IF YOU CAN READ THE STORY AND ID LOVE TO HEAR ANYONE'S SPIEL ON IT. THIS IS PART ONE ON THE STORY JUST TO GET YOU STARTED. MY NEXT BIG COMMISSION IS TO CREATE A SEA SIREN THAT IS LAID ACROSS THREE CANVAS'S BUT IM NOT SURE IF I AM BRAVE ENOUGH TO TACKLE THE SAME SIZE AS THESE THREE WERE. IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF TACKLING A TRYPTCH [I think its spelt that way lol] I HAVE SOME ADVICE.......GATHER ALL ELEMENTS TOGETHER FIRST. LAY YOUR CANVAS DOWN AND ROUGHLY PUT ELEMENTS AND EMBELLISHMENTS ON CANVAS THEN LOOK AT IT FOR AT LEAST A FEW DAYS. TRY TO TELL A STORY ACROSS THE CANVAS SO THEY SEEM ALL MARRIED TO EACH OTHER. GET LOTS OF SLEEP CAUSE ONCE YOU START YOU DONT-CANT-WONT STOP....I DID NOT GET MUCH SLEEP IN THE WEEK I WORKED ON THESE BABIES. STICKING AT THEM CREATES A FLOW AND I DONT THINK YOU COULD LEAVE THEM HANGING AROUND INCOMPLETE FOR LONG AS ITS HARD TO PICK UP THE THREAD IF YOU GET MY DRIFT. THIS WAS A CHALLENGE AND I LOVED IT... THE PERSON WHO COMMISSIONED ME IS THRILLED TO BITS...WE JUST NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PACK THEM FOR A 4000KLM PLANE FLIGHT. SMILES AND HUGS TO ALL MY ONLINE FRIENDS.

PARIS INSPIRED 3 PIECE COLLAGE ON CANVAS. SIZE OVER ALL 36 INCH WIDE X 24 INCH LENGTH....MY BIGGEST COMMISSION WORK YET!
PARISIAN BELLE GETTING READY FOR HER BALL WITH THE HELP OF HER BEAUTIFUL DOVE.
HERE ABOVE IS A CLOSE UP OF ONE OF THE EMBELLISHMENTS CREATED FOR THE MIDDLE CANVAS.
ABOVE IS A PHOTO OF THE MIDDLE CANVAS. THE PERFUME FLYER IS PARISIAN

CLOSE UP OF THE FEATHER HAT THE GORGEOUS DOVE IS PLACING ON THE LOVELY WOMANS HEAD...YES I USED REAL FEATHERS I JUST LOVE THEM.

KING OF THE ROAD aka MY DAD

I wanted to do a shadow box collage...so I used the back of a canvas. Its cheap and its here ready to go. I nailed hessian to the top for the rough look and to hide the staples, painted and then grabbed man stuff. Thats my dad on his bike in the 50's. I used a metal drain thing for one of the wheels. Its very much 3D and lots more richer in colour than the scan shows. I give this the funky thumbs up for play and fun value.
